Momsity

FAQ

Straight answers.

Momsity is everyday help from MOMs nearby: Members post Tasks, and MOMs get them done. College families are one important use case — not the whole story. Here are the questions people ask most.

Basics

What is Momsity?

Momsity connects people who need local help with MOMs who want to provide supported services in their area. Members post Tasks. MOMs offer and get them done. Payment, messages, and Task history stay on Momsity.

What is a Member?

A Member is someone who uses Momsity to request and pay for a Task — for themselves or for someone they care about.

What is a MOM on Momsity?

A MOM is a person who helps others get things done through the Momsity marketplace. MOMs are people who get things done.

Does a MOM have to be a mother?

No. “MOM” is a Momsity brand term. MOMs can come from many different backgrounds. What matters is that they meet Momsity’s applicable requirements and can provide supported services.

Why does Momsity call them MOMs?

Because we wanted a simple name for people who step up, lend a hand, and get things done.

What is a Task?

A Task is something a Member asks a MOM to do: laundry, errands, cleaning, packages, move-in help, and other allowed categories. See Categories and Prohibited Tasks.

Who it’s for

Is Momsity only for college students?

No. College students and their families are an important use case, but Momsity is designed for broader local help as well — everyday Tasks, help from afar, and practical support for new parents, within allowed Task types.

Can I use Momsity for my college student?

Yes. Families can use Momsity to request supported local services for students — laundry, errands, move-in and move-out help, care packages, and other supported needs. When you post, you can mark the Task as being for a student and add the college. It is optional.

Can I send help to someone who lives somewhere else?

Where an eligible MOM is available, yes. A Member can arrange a Task for another person by posting it with the ZIP code where help is needed.

Does Momsity operate everywhere?

No. Momsity is a new marketplace, and coverage depends on real MOMs near the ZIP code where help is needed. You can post a Task anywhere, but we cannot promise a MOM will be available in every area. If no eligible MOM offers, you are not charged.

Matching

How does Momsity match people?

Location comes first. Each Task has a public area based on its ZIP or city, and each MOM sets a service radius. Momsity shows a Task to MOMs whose service area covers it, who offer that type of service, and who meet any extra qualification the service needs — for example rides, moving, and car help. Trust level, completed Tasks, and how much a MOM already has on their plate help decide who is notified first. Members then choose from the MOMs who offer.

Do you offer pet sitting, dog walking, or house sitting?

Yes. Members can post dog walks, drop-in pet visits, and house sitting. House sitting is offered only by MOMs Momsity has approved for it. Babysitting and childcare are not offered. If you need childcare, licensed care, veterinary care, or emergency help, use the right service — not Momsity.

Money

Who pays?

The Member pays the applicable Task total through Momsity checkout. You see the amount before you pay.

Who gets paid?

The Member's payment is held until the Task is confirmed — by the Member, or automatically by Momsity 72 hours after the MOM marks it complete if no review or other open issue applies. Once confirmed, eligible earnings are transferred to the MOM's connected Stripe balance, and Stripe deposits to the MOM's bank on its payout schedule, which may take additional time. See Pricing.

What if I cancel or need a refund?

Follow the Cancellation & Refunds policy. Cancel before a MOM accepts for a full refund. After a MOM accepts, refunds are reviewed by our team based on the facts.

Joining

How do I become a MOM?

Create a MOM profile from Become a MOM: accept the Mom Agreement, add a short bio, your city and ZIP, and the services you offer, then set your service radius on your profile. Some services, like rides and moving, need extra qualification before you can offer on them. You can join as an individual MOM or a MOM Business.

Can I be both?

The product supports exploring Member and MOM paths from the same account family of flows. Roles still follow authorization rules for private Task data.

Safety & support

How does Momsity keep people safe?

Through specific features, not blanket promises. Exact addresses stay private until a MOM is authorized for that Task. Tasks are shown to MOMs whose service area and services fit, and some services — like rides, moving, car help, and house sitting — need extra qualification or approval first. Messages stay on the Task, where they can be moderated and reviewed by support. Members pay through Momsity checkout, and payment is held until the Task is confirmed, so a Member can open a review if something wasn't done as described. Members and MOMs accept the current Terms, and MOMs also accept the Community Rules and Prohibited Tasks policy. Momsity does not claim that every MOM is background-checked, licensed, or insured. Read Trust and Safety for details.

Can I post any Task?

No. Tasks must follow Terms, Community Rules, and Safety requirements. Some work is unavailable for legal, safety, or eligibility reasons.

What if something goes wrong?

Use the in-app Task thread first. For account issues outside a Task, use Contact. If a Task wasn't done as described, open a review before you confirm it — that keeps the payment on hold while we look into it. Your MOM is told and can respond. Routine reviews may be decided by automated rules after 24–48 hours, with the reasons saved and a human review available within 14 days; safety, damage, fraud, and larger amounts always go to our team, which aims to review within 72 hours. Reviews are for real problems; repeated or bad-faith reviews may lead to an account review. If your MOM cancels before work starts, we look for another MOM. If none is chosen within 24 hours, or by the end of your Task's scheduled date (whichever comes first), the Task is cancelled and your payment is fully refunded. A replacement MOM is not guaranteed.

What if a Member opens a review on my Task?

You're told by email and in the app, and you can share your side from the Task page with a short note and photos. When you mark a Task done you can also add an optional note and photos, which the Member and Momsity staff can see. Your earning stays on hold while the review is open. Routine reviews may be decided by automated rules once you reply (or after 48 hours with no reply), with the reasons saved and a human review available within 14 days; safety, damage, fraud, and larger amounts always go to our team. A review only counts against your track record if it is decided against you.

Is this emergency care?

No. Call 911 or local emergency services for a true emergency. Read Safety.
