Errand help
Need someone to run errands? Local MOMs can help.
When the to-do list is longer than the day, post the errand on Momsity. MOMs nearby whose services and area fit can offer to handle it, you choose who does it, and you pay through Momsity once you've picked.
You can post errands for yourself or for someone you care about in another town, like a parent, a student, or a friend with a new baby.
Errands people post on Momsity
- Store returns and exchanges
- Dropping packages at the post office or a shipping store
- Picking up an order, dry cleaning, or something left behind
- Waiting at home for a delivery, repair visit, or installer
- Dropping off donations
- Putting together and delivering a care package
- Taking a car to or from the repair shop (MOMs approved for car help)
Errands for someone else
A lot of errands aren't for the person posting them. You can post and pay for a Task that happens in another city, for example a pharmacy pickup for a parent who no longer drives, or a package pickup for a student on campus.
Put the drop-off details in the Task. The exact address is only shared with the MOM you choose, after they are authorized for that Task.
How to write an errand Task that gets good offers
- Say exactly what needs doing and where: the store, the pickup point, the drop-off.
- Give a time window, and say if it has to happen on a specific day.
- List anything a MOM should know before offering, like heavy items, parking, or building access.
- If the errand involves buying something, explain that clearly in the Task so MOMs can decide before they offer.
- Keep questions and updates in Task messages so everything stays in one place.
What errand help on Momsity is not
MOMs on Momsity are independent people, not a delivery fleet, so same-day help isn't always available and not every area has a MOM yet. Momsity isn't emergency help, medical care, or babysitting, and some Tasks aren't allowed at all. See Prohibited Tasks before you post.
How it works
Step 1
Post a Task
Choose the service, the ZIP where help is needed, and when it should happen, then describe the details. The exact address stays private until a MOM is authorized for that Task.
Step 2
Nearby MOMs offer
MOMs whose services and area fit can be notified and can offer on your Task. Not every area has a MOM available yet, so timing and coverage depend on who is nearby.
Step 3
Choose and pay on Momsity
Compare who offered, choose your MOM, and pay through Momsity checkout. You see the total before you pay.
Step 4
Coordinate in Task messages
Your MOM accepts and gets the details they need. Messages stay on the Task so the history and support stay together.
Step 5
Confirm when it is done
Your MOM marks the Task complete and you confirm. Payment is held until you confirm, or released automatically 72 hours after completion if you don't open a review.
Common questions
- Can I post an errand for my parent or my college student?
- Yes. The person who posts and pays is the Member, and the Task can take place wherever help is needed. Add the drop-off details to the Task; the exact address is only shared with the MOM you choose.
- How much does errand help cost?
- It depends on the Task. You see the total, including any Momsity fee, before you pay at checkout. Momsity doesn't charge a subscription to post or browse.
- When is the MOM paid?
- Your payment is held until you confirm the errand is done, or released automatically 72 hours after the MOM marks it complete if you don't open a review.
- What if no MOM offers on my errand?
- Coverage depends on MOMs nearby. If nobody offers, your Task stays open for a while and Momsity may widen the search. You aren't charged unless you choose a MOM and complete checkout.
