Momsity

For aging parents

Everyday help for an aging parent, even from far away

When a parent still lives on their own but things like housework, the yard, or getting to the post office are getting harder, a little regular help goes a long way. Momsity lets you post those everyday Tasks, from wherever you live, and a MOM near your parent can offer to help.

Momsity is for practical, non-medical help. It isn't home health care, personal care, or a medical alert service.

Help families arrange for a parent

  • Pharmacy pickups and other local errands
  • Post office trips, returns, and package pickups
  • Raking, light yard work, and shoveling walks and steps
  • Laundry, light cleaning, and kitchen tidy-ups
  • Organizing a closet or garage, or a donation run
  • Friendly, non-emergency check-ins
  • Waiting at the house for a repair visit or delivery
  • Meal prep in their kitchen

What Momsity doesn't do

MOMs on Momsity don't give medication, help with bathing, dressing, or toileting, provide nursing or medical care, or respond to emergencies. For those needs, look at licensed home care agencies, your parent's doctor, or your local Area Agency on Aging. Call 911 in an emergency.

A check-in on Momsity is a friendly visit, not monitoring. If you're worried about your parent's safety, talk to their doctor or a care professional.

Setting it up from another city

  • Talk with your parent first so they know who's coming and why.
  • Post the Task with your parent's ZIP and a clear description; the exact address is only shared with the MOM you choose.
  • Use Task messages to agree on timing and to get updates.
  • Confirm the Task when it's done. Payment is held until then.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Post a Task

Choose the service, the ZIP where help is needed, and when it should happen, then describe the details. The exact address stays private until a MOM is authorized for that Task.

  2. Step 2

    Nearby MOMs offer

MOMs whose services and area fit can be notified and can offer on your Task. Not every area has a MOM available yet, so timing and coverage depend on who is nearby.

  3. Step 3

    Choose and pay on Momsity

Compare who offered, choose your MOM, and pay through Momsity checkout. You see the total before you pay.

  4. Step 4

    Coordinate in Task messages

Your MOM accepts and gets the details they need. Messages stay on the Task so the history and support stay together.

  5. Step 5

    Confirm when it is done

Your MOM marks the Task complete and you confirm. Payment is held until you confirm, or released automatically 72 hours after completion if you don't open a review.

Common questions

Can I pay for help for my parent from another state?
Yes. You're the Member who posts and pays; the Task happens where your parent lives, wherever an eligible MOM is nearby.
Is this the same as a home care agency?
No. MOMs on Momsity are independent people who take everyday, non-medical Tasks. Momsity doesn't provide personal care, medical care, or supervision.
Will the same MOM come every time?
Each Task is separate. You can mention in a new Task that you'd like the same MOM, and they can offer again if they're available.
