Storage

Storage pickup, drop-off, and retrieval

Storage Tasks help with getting things into and out of short-term storage, like summer storage for a student, a move between apartments, or clearing space before a renovation.

Pick one to start your Task with it filled in, or describe your own.

Find it under Student & College, Moving & Organization.

What storage help covers

A storage Task covers the trips in and out of short-term storage: taking boxes to a unit you've rented, bringing them back before move-in, or clearing a room into storage before a renovation.

Momsity doesn't provide the storage itself. You book the unit or storage service, and a MOM handles the carrying and driving you describe.

Who uses it

  • College students storing things over the summer
  • Parents arranging storage runs for a student from out of town
  • Renters between leases
  • Households clearing space for a project

What people post

  • Taking boxes to a storage unit you've rented
  • Retrieving stored items before move-in
  • Summer storage runs for students

Good to know

  • Momsity doesn't provide storage space. You arrange the unit.
  • Heavy loading may need a MOM approved for moving.

What to include in your Task

  • Where the storage unit is, and how access works (gate codes are shared after you authorize a MOM)
  • How many boxes and any large items
  • Whether the items are packed and labeled
  • Stairs, elevators, and parking at both ends
  • Your deadline, especially around move-out week

What to expect

  • MOMs nearby offer and you choose who helps.
  • Heavy items may need a MOM approved for moving.
  • Ask for a photo of the stored items in Task messages if that helps you feel sure.

Helpful guides

Trust and payment

MOMs are independent, so read profiles and reviews from real completed Tasks before you choose. Your exact address stays private until you authorize a MOM, messages stay on the Task, and payment is held until you confirm the work is done. Momsity doesn't guarantee that every Task will get an offer, or that a MOM is available in every area. How trust works

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Post a Task

Choose the service, the ZIP where help is needed, and when it should happen, then describe the details. The exact address stays private until a MOM is authorized for that Task.

  2. Step 2

    Nearby MOMs offer

MOMs whose services and area fit can be notified and can offer on your Task. Not every area has a MOM available yet, so timing and coverage depend on who is nearby.

  3. Step 3

    Choose and pay on Momsity

Compare who offered, choose your MOM, and pay through Momsity checkout. You see the total before you pay.

  4. Step 4

    Coordinate in Task messages

Your MOM accepts and gets the details they need. Messages stay on the Task so the history and support stay together.

  5. Step 5

    Confirm when it is done

Your MOM marks the Task complete and you confirm. Payment is held until the Task is confirmed. If you don't confirm or open a review, Momsity may confirm it automatically 72 hours after completion when no other issue is open.

Common questions

How does payment work?
You see the total before you pay at Momsity checkout. Payment is held until the Task is confirmed — by you, or automatically by Momsity 72 hours after the MOM marks it complete if you don't open a review and no other issue is open.
